Whether you’re a rookie or a pro, this workshop is for you! We will learn how to make kimchi, what ingredients to use, and how you can customize it to your own taste. You will make your own batch of kimchi that’s totally you – let your creativity shine! Plus, it’s a great chance to meet other kimchi lovers and have a fun, hands-on experience. Think of it as a kimchi-making day with (new) friends! The workshop is taught in English and is perfect for all skill levels.
These are what you need to bring to the workshop:
- Cutting board
- Knife
- Small mixing bowl
- Extra large mixing bowl
- Wooden/bamboo spoon
- Clean, preferably large, jar(s) that can contain 2+ kg of food (used pickle jars are great!)
- You will make and come home with ±2 kg of kimchi
- Good energy
(Optional)
- Your own apron
- Food processor
Water and light bites are provided.
About the facilitator
Hi, I’m Anindya. I’m passionate about anything food-related – cooking, fermenting, growing, foraging, eating, and watching mukbang videos. After I learned how to make my own kimchi, I promised myself never to buy kimchi from the supermarket anymore. Kimchi is easy to make, healthy, and delicious! Seriously, it goes well with anything. I shared my kimchi with friends, and they actually started buying it from me! Other than making food, I also enjoy facilitating workshops. So, I started hosting monthly kimchi workshops in my tiny living room last summer. I’m very excited to collaborate with MidWest this time and spread the kimchi love!
